The Director of Business Development is a highly driven self-starter with a proven track record of commercial success. The individual will be tasked to identify and acquire new customers while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients. The ideal candidate will have an immediate impact and bring a robust network within the IVD community to the position.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead Sales activities resulting in meeting or exceeding annual targets in the territory.
  • Identify and develop new client leads.
  • Develops and cultivates long-term relationships with existing customers.
  • Ensure in-depth client needs assessments are completed and MDC presents targeted service offerings best matched to their needs.
  • Leads the proposal and contract process to ensure the alignment of all stakeholders and a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Work directly with internal stakeholders to ensure projects are kicked off effectively and timely after contract signing.
  • Supports the promotion of MDC through tradeshow attendance and other marketing initiatives.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of commercial strategy and provide input on service line expansion.
  • Develop and maintains in-depth product knowledge.
  • Collaborate to drive MDC's commercialization strategy to support continued growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Must have direct experience working in In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD)
  • Must have direct experience selling CRO services
  • Direct sales experience, required

Requirements

  • Demonstrated consensus building and negotiation skills.
  • Positive team-player with strong desire to "win".
  • Proven track record closing new business and year-over-year sales growth.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and formal presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated commercial success.
  • Strong understanding of IVD required.
  • Up to 30% travel.

Pay

  • Up to $250k OTE including attractive variable compensation program.
